  • Responsibilities

    A top-tier top-tier agricultural research & development company is hiring for a General Ledger Accountant at their offices in North San Benito County. The thriving company provides grower solutions to farms across the country and the role reports to the Accounting Manager.

    Responsibilities

    General Ledger Maintenance

    • Post journal entries, adjustments, and other financial transactions to the general ledger.
    • Ensure proper classification and coding of transactions.
    • Reconcile general ledger accounts and resolve discrepancies.
    Month-End & Year-End Close
    • Support the month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
    • Prepare and review financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement).
    • Analyze and report variances between actuals and forecasts.
    Financial Reporting
    • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
    • Ensure financial statements comply with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
    Account Reconciliation
    • Reconcile bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other balance sheet accounts.
    • Investigate and resolve discrepancies in account balances.
    Audit Preparation
    • Provide documentation and support for external audits.
    • Ensure all required schedules and reconciliations are completed accurately for audit purposes.
    Compliance & Controls
    • Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of accounting procedures and controls.
    Collaboration
    • Work closely and review departments such as Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable to ensure accurate financial reporting.
    • Communicate with external auditors, tax advisors, and other relevant parties.
    Other Duties
    • Assist in the budgeting and forecasting process.
    • Stay updated with changes in accounting regulations and standards.
    Qualifications
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
    • 2-4 years of experience in general ledger accounting or related roles
    • CPA or equivalent certification preferred but not required
    • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
    • Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices
    • Proficiency in accounting software (JDE, SAP, Oracle)
    • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
    • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

     

  • Compensation
    $70,000-$85,000 per year
