About the Opportunity

Our client, a fast-moving and growing company in the Knoxville area, is seeking an experienced GL Accountant to provide hands-on reconciliation support!

Responsibilities

• Perform balance sheet reconciliations across key accounts: cash, AP/AR, accruals, prepaids, payroll liabilities, etc.
• Review and resolve discrepancies between the general ledger and sub-ledgers or external documentation
• Prepare and post journal entries for corrections, adjustments, and month-end activities
• Assist with month-end close , including reconciliation schedules and supporting documentation
• Partner with internal accounting team to streamline and document processes
• Support cleanup efforts related to prior periods and backlog reconciliations
• Provide audit-ready documentation for any adjustments

What We’re Looking For

• 3+ years of hands-on GL accounting experience , with a strong focus on reconciliations
• Proficient in Excel (VLOOKUP, PivotTables)
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (NetSuite, QuickBooks, Oracle, SAP, or similar)
• Ability to work independently , manage multiple deadlines, and solve problems proactively
• Comfortable working in messy books or catching up on delayed financials
• Strong attention to detail and clear documentation habits
