    GLMS encourages all of our teachers and directors to participate in ongoing education courses to both build their knowledge and help them grow in their careers. In addition to providing experienced mentorship, in person classes and online training throughout the year, GLMS also provides pre-authorized education contributions to ensure that these courses can be a source of regular, personal growth as well as within the organization. Staff who complete their training courses are eligible for promotions and increases in compensation based on their current roles and future commitments.

    Responsibilities:

    Under the direction and supervision of the Campus Director(s), the Head Montessori Teacher provides support in the following areas:

    Plan, supervise, and carry out an effective program for the class in accordance with the philosophy of the school and the Montessori teachings.

    Gear the program to the needs of the individual children with concern for interests, handicaps, talents, etc.

    Be responsible for the décor, appearance, and learning environment of the classroom and maintain petty cash receipts.

    Send out a monthly newsletter via email to families in your classroom including but not limited to updates on the monthly theme, special activities and photographs of the children from the month.

    Attend all staff meetings and recommended training programs, including in-service staff meetings.

    Communicate with parents, children and other teachers in a kind and respectful manner

    Develop positive behavior with each child and be responsible for parent-teacher conferences semi-annually

    Qualifications:

    Minimum of twelve units of early childhood education in child, family and community, child development, and curriculum.

    Minimum of 2 years experience in head montessori teacher role

    PLUS

    Must have graduated from an accredited Montessori training program.

    Schedule:

    Monday to Friday 8AM to 3PM

    This role will begin on May 1st, 2024

    Compensation:

    $30.50 - $32.50 per hour
