    Job Description

    General Purpose: Supports process stabilization efforts in the manufacturing production lines (WF Barrels, WF Slides and Surface Treatment) according with work instructions and best practices by performing the following duties:

    Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned):

    • Assists Line Managers with execution of projects in the various manufacturing lines including modification of machines, assembly of new fixtures, machine set up, processing of molds, etc.
    • Gathers and helps with analysis of data
    • Aids in the Implementation of program / process updates and technology transfers including communication of progress with colleagues onsite and abroad.
    • Evaluates the need for fixtures, Tools, etc. to support successful technology transfers and program updates. 
    • Supports training initiatives of new operators, machine adjusters and other team members based on guidance from the line lead and shift supervisors.
    • Troubleshoots issues related with machines and process and communicates progress accordingly.
    • Supports the maintenance of stock levels of various items including tools, consumables, gauges, etc. according with guidelines from Mfg. management, Planning and Line Leads.
    • Helps with development and implementation of OCAP’s (Out of Control Action Plans) 
    • Provides input for editing/creation of documents such as working instructions, control plans, data sheets, etc.
    • Is actively involved in the Lean Manufacturing activities in the department Including the implementation of SMED (Single Minute Exchange of Dies) initiatives, 5S sustaining efforts, Kan-Ban, etc
    • Supports TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) efforts in the department
    • Read blueprints to ensure dimensional conformance of parts. Reviews measurement reports to assess product conformity and necessary corrections.
    • Performs re-works/modifications on machine and off machine.
    • Maintains a high level of safety and cleanliness in the manufacturing area. 
    • Flexible work schedule. This position requires interactions with all shifts 
    • Must be present in regular attendance.

    Education and/or Experience:

    • 2 yr degree on related technical field and/or at least 3-5 year experience in either CNC, metal machining and /or metallurgy processes, injection molding and related automation.

    While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit or stand for prolonged periods of time. The employee works around oils, coolants and cleaning solutions.  Employee is required bend and squat to lift or move boxes (up to 40 lbs.).  The employee is required to use fingers and hands to work on products.  Personal Protective Equipment is required for safety. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to: work with and around oils, coolants, and cleaning solutions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to occasionally loud.
