Job Description:

Provides Janitorial and/or Portering services at the property; ensuring an attractive, sanitary, and safe environment for the visitors, students, and staff. Performs a variety of special cleaning operations and preparation of facilities. Performance of schedules and ensuring that assignments are completed in a safe, proper, and timely manner. If hired, the applicant’s children are eligible to attend the new world-class Villages Charter School in Middleton.

Position Overview:

· Cleans assigned facilities and/or grounds for the purpose of maintaining a sanitary, safe, and attractive environment.

· Cleaning duties include dusting, sweeping, mopping, polishing, cleaning windows, wiping furniture, and the cleaning and emptying of all containers used for waste.

· Consults with management for the purpose of planning, prioritizing, and scheduling custodial activities and achieving site maintenance objectives.

· Maintains supplies and equipment for the purpose of ensuring availability of custodial items required to properly maintain facilities and buildings.

· Distributes custodial supplies and equipment for the purpose of disseminating materials to janitorial crew members and or storage areas.

· Inspects facilities for the purpose of ensuring that the site meets GMI’s standards, maintained in an attractive and clean condition, identifying necessary repairs to Director of Facilities & Property Services.

· Monitors visitors, students and staff in and around work areas for the purpose of preventing injuries and ensuring site safety.

· Participates in trainings for the purpose of conveying and or/gathering information required to perform job functions.

· Performs additional duties as assigned by management.

· Develops and maintains excellent customer service with GMI staff, The Villages’ management staff and the school district staff.

Responsible for cleaning of buildings and grounds by performing essential duties and responsibilities. A reliable transportation is necessary. Must pass a background check and be authorized to work in the United States.

EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION

Three or more years in either janitorial and/or portering role. Must be English or Bi-lingual speaking with a Highschool/GED degree preferred.
