Papillion Montessori Preschool: Infant/Toddler Teaching Assistant
Job Description
Position Overview:
An Assistant Teacher in a Montessori classroom is a learning teacher in the Montessori teaching curriculum. This individual will be responsible to develop skills taught by Lead Teacher(s) to ultimately achieve Lead Teacher education within 2 years of position.
Students of our school are the core of our program. Each and every student will receive equal and specific attention, development and assistance. All students are individual and will be treated as such.
Work Hours/ Vacations
Work the full daily, weekly, and yearly hours that are stated in the teacher agreement
Assistants receive 5 paid days for Winter and Spring breaks
Assistants are paid for snow days and holidays such as 4th of July, Labor Day etc.
Requirements:
Speaks fluent English
CPR / First Aid Certification (or willing to complete the training on site)
Clear record and background check
Regular attendance required
High school diploma or equivalent
Has physical capacity to work with children (includes by not limited to: constant bending, lifting, stooping, sitting and working on the floor) ages 18 months to 6 years old
Maintains professional appearance according to staff standards defined in the handbook
Consistent positive disposition working with parents, students and staff
