Job Responsibilities:

Meets with attorneys, clients, and other professionals to discuss and strategize regarding assigned cases or projects.

Drafts complaints,

Drafts questions and response to written discovery, as well as meet and confer correspondence, according to California Civil Procedure.

Researches and analyzes statutes, regulations, legal articles, judicial decisions, and other legal sources; provides written analysis to attorneys.

Interviews clients and witnesses and prepares summaries of their statements.

Assists attorneys with preparation for depositions and mediations.

Coordinates meetings with liability and medical experts.

Communicates with opposing counsel and their staff on a regular basis.

Prepares, organizes, stores, and retrieves case files, which may include trial calendar, evidence, exhibits, depositions, pleadings, exhibits, and other items.

Assists attorneys with trial preparation, which may include attending trials and hearings.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

· College degree preferred but not required

· Paralegal certificate required

· 7+ years’ experience as a paralegal. Personal Injury Law experience highly preferred.

· Understanding of California Civil Procedure, research methods, filing pleadings and processes, and other related matters.

· Computer literacy in Word, Excel, Slack, Outlook and web-based applications, and proficient in the use of office equipment.

· Excellent organizational skills, extreme attention to detail and deadline driven.

· Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced, customer service environment.

· Ability to lift 15 pounds at a time

· Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time at a desk while working on a computer.
