Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) Technician with a strong background in utility locating and concrete scanning. The ideal candidate will have extensive field experience, strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining clear communication with clients and team members.
Key Responsibilities
Perform GPR scanning for utilities, rebar, post-tension cables, conduits, voids, and other subsurface features.
Conduct utility locating using electromagnetic and radio frequency methods in addition to GPR.
Interpret scan data and produce accurate, detailed reports and marked layouts on site.
Work in compliance with state and federal safety standards and company protocols.
Operate and maintain GPR and locating equipment, ensuring calibration and readiness.
Communicate professionally with contractors, engineers, and property owners.
Travel to job sites across Florida as needed.
Qualifications
3–5 years of experience operating GPR equipment for utility locating and/or concrete scanning.
Proven expertise in reading and interpreting GPR data.
Knowledge of construction drawings, utility maps, and as-built plans.
Strong understanding of underground utility safety and Florida 811 regulations.
Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks.
Valid Florida driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
OSHA 10/30 certification preferred (or willingness to obtain).
Physical Requirements
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Standing, walking, kneeling, and bending for extended periods.
Outdoor work in varying climates.
