    Minimum Requirements – Do Not Apply Unless You Meet All of the Following:

    • 5+ years of civil construction experience with a focus on GPS modeling and heavy earthwork

    • Advanced proficiency in Topcon 3D Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GPS machine control systems

    • Demonstrated experience managing field operations and crew dispatch for large-scale dirt work

    • Ability to independently build and implement accurate GPS models in a fast-paced construction environment

    Position Overview:

    We are actively seeking a highly experienced GPS & Field Operations Manager to lead GPS modeling, drone surveying, and field operations for large-scale civil earthwork projects. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in dirt work, strong leadership in coordinating crews and equipment, and the ability to troubleshoot, implement, and manage GPS and drone systems across multiple job sites.

    You will be a key liaison between field teams, project managers, and surveyors—ensuring grading precision, production targets, and digital workflows are aligned and executed efficiently.

    Key Responsibilities:

    GPS Modeling & Site Technology

    • Build and maintain precise 3D GPS machine control models using Topcon 3D Office and AutoCAD Civil 3D

    • Interpret grading plans, utility layouts, and sitework drawings to support model development

    • Coordinate with engineers, surveyors, and project managers to ensure model constructability

    • Upload and maintain GPS files across active machines and job sites

    • Provide in-field GPS layout, calibration, and troubleshooting support

    Drone Surveying & Aerial Mapping

    • Operate drones to gather aerial data for cut/fill mapping, volumetric analysis, and site documentation

    • Process drone data using platforms like DroneDeploy or Pix4D

    • Ensure compliance with FAA Part 107 standards (certification preferred or required within 60 days)

    • Generate accurate maps and reports to support billing, production, and job progress tracking

    Field Operations & Crew Dispatch

    • Coordinate daily field crew dispatch for 25+ operators and laborers, including labor and equipment allocation

    • Conduct job site visits to ensure proper GPS model implementation, safety compliance, and field coordination

    • Resolve production and layout issues in real-time while tracking performance and jobsite productivity

    • Maintain reporting protocols and collaborate with project management to align on schedules and goals

    Leadership & Training

    • Train field staff and operators on GPS equipment, layout reading, and drone workflows

    • Participate in hiring, onboarding, and development of field team members

    • Act as a key communication link between field crews, leadership, and office staff

    • Drive adoption of digital construction technologies and continuous process improvement

    Required Qualifications:

    • Minimum 5 years of experience in civil construction, GPS modeling, and earthwork operations

    • Advanced proficiency in Topcon 3D Office, AutoCAD Civil 3D, and GPS machine control systems

    • Strong technical knowledge of mass grading, over-excavation, and balancing strategies

    • Drone operation and aerial mapping experience; FAA Part 107 certification preferred

    • Proven success coordinating field logistics and dispatch for large-scale dirt work

    • Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills

    • Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as needed

    Compensation & Benefits:

    • Base Salary: $100,000+ annually (Depending on Experience)
