Job Description

The law office of Grant, Genovese & Baratta, LLP (GGB) in Irvine, CA is looking to hire one or two admitted attorneys with one to four years of experience for its litigation and insurance defense practice. GGB’s area of expertise includes the litigation of personal injury, premises liability, defamation, construction defect, insurance coverage and property damage claims.

The ideal candidate has a passion and desire to be an effective trial litigator. GGB is a trial firm. We aim to provide effective and efficient litigation services to our clients, consistent with the needs of the case, while preparing cases to potentially proceed to trial. Although not required, prior Court clerkship, law review, or prior litigation work is a plus.

Responsibilities Include:

· Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery (including working with clients in responding to discovery), research the law applicable to cases or matters, conduct investigations and evaluations, conduct depositions, review and summarize discovery (medical records, accident reports, depositions, etc.), attend court appearances (including oral argument), engage in settlement negotiations and mediations, and ultimately prepare cases for trial;

· Interact and meet with clients, correspond with insurance carriers, and provide support services for supervisor partners and associates;

· Manage a full case load of personal injury cases.

Job Requirements:

· J.D. from a recognized law school;

· Licensed member of the California state bar;

· Local travel required;

· Excellent legal research, writing, and communication skills;

· Familiarity with standard word processing and email programs.
