Our client, a leading, West Coast property and casualty insurer is seeking an Accountant, Responsibilities/requirements below: The Senior Accountant has a responsibility in supporting the Accounting Manager in meeting departmental goals and objectives and assisting with the development of work flows, policies, procedures, and internal controls within assigned area. Proficient knowledge of statutory and GAAP accounting procedures including internal control and insurance regulations. Understand the concepts and terminology of insurance accounting. Display proficiency in the use of the SunGard Ledger package or a related ledger software. Must be able to handle multiple projects and adjust to shifting priorities. Effectively communicate with customers inside and outside of the organization. Demonstrate proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on Excel, Word, and a basic understanding of network functionality.
