Job description:
The Maintenance Technician supports daily production by helping keep equipment and facility systems running safely and
reliably. This role focuses on routine maintenance, basic troubleshooting, and timely repairs of manufacturing equipment in a
metal fabrication environment. The technician works closely with production and maintenance team members to minimize
downtime and support smooth operations during first shift.
Key Responsibilities:
General
Provide daily support for opening and building start up, identifying and addressing any issues that may seem out of the
ordinary.
Equipment & Production Support:
Respond to equipment breakdowns in a timely fashion recruiting outside help as needed.
Perform routine maintenance and basic repairs on metal fabrication equipment.
Assist with troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues
Replace worn or damaged components such as belts, bearings, hoses, and sensors
Help with equipment adjustments, setups, and minor improvements.
Work in conjunction with outside contractors to repair, replace or install equipment beyond internal capabilities.
Preventive Maintenance:
Complete scheduled preventive maintenance tasks
Inspect equipment for normal wear and report issues before they become major problems
Record completed work and observations in maintenance logs.
Facility Maintenance:
Assist with general building and facility upkeep including lighting, compressed air, HVAC, and basic plumbing.
Perform light welding, fabrication, or repair work as needed
Help with equipment moves or installations
Safety & Teamwork:
Follow safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout and PPE requirements
Maintain a clean and organized work area
Communicate openly with operators, supervisors, and fellow technicians
Participate in team meetings and safety discussions
Qualifications
Skills & Experience:
Basic to intermediate mechanical maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment
Familiarity with common shop equipment and hand tools
Willingness to learn electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
Ability to read basic drawings, manuals, and schematics
