    POSITION SUMMARY

    The purpose of the Student Relationship Officer is to build and strengthen relationships among members and organizations at the University. This person will do so by assessing members’ financial needs and educating members on appropriate products and services. Under the leadership of the Manager – Student Operated Financial Center to ensure that a unique member experience is maintained and provided to all members.

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Greet every member, direct them to the appropriate areas of the Community Financial Center, and ensure that the member’s needs are met • Consistently exceed the member’s expectations and thank them for their business • Be respectful and maintain a professional demeanor with co-workers to build a pro-active team environment • Work with Marketing Officers to develop acquisition strategy for new memberships and retention strategies for existing memberships • Coordinate and execute on-campus promotions and events to raise awareness of GTE and the GTE difference • Develop and facilitate financial literacy seminars or programs (in some cases conduct) • Search for other opportunities for GTE as you see fit (This can be very broad. i.e. proposing that GTE install an ATM and why, or if GTE is missing a crucial segment) • Research and develop strategic projects and campaigns specific to the GTE college strategy (i.e. improvements to current initiatives, propose future projects) • Establish new and maintain existing member accounts • Consistently develop long-term relationships and establish new relationships through strong people skills and the ability to recall people, names, and conversations • Seek out partnerships on campus (i.e. clubs, residence halls, student organizations, etc.) • Identify, recommend, and sell appropriate GTE Financial products and services to create fully engaged financial relationships in accordance with the business strategy • Have proficient knowledge and the ability to assist members with ATM/ITM usage, virtual banking, or provide additional/necessary resources • Engage in weekly team meetings, conference calls, and events as assigned • Track and report weekly production outcomes on all products, services, and referral categories • Support ways of communication between the student officers, GTE Financial, and the University • Cross train in order to perform other duties assigned

     

    • Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to: U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act

    OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:

    • Maintain academic/program activity requirements established by the program approved University and GTE • Assist with the on-going development of the program • Assist in recruiting and interviewing future officers • Ensure all officers are knowledgeable and cross-functional with operations • Ensure the maintenance, cleanliness, and organization of the CFC • Perform additional duties as assigned • Abides by all policies, procedures, and protocols set forth in the departmental, GTE Financial employee, operational and administrative policy manuals

Able to use Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable using social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter • Demonstrate proficiency and be knowledgeable about technology with the ability to quickly learn and access products through virtual banking.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

    • Additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives and goals • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds • Vision (or corrected) to normal range • Ability to stand for long periods of time • Be able to stand for extended periods of time

    Required Experience

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 • Commitment to the entire duration of the program (full academic year) • Must be a full-time student at a program-approved university • Demonstration of involvement in extra-curricular and community service activities • Completion of background screening and drug test • Must comply with all rules, guidelines, and professional conduct standards
