    POSITION SUMMARY

     

    The Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for driving the communication strategy within the membership base, the market area and media organizations in order to increase awareness of the credit union and position GTE Financial for future growth. This role is also responsible for identifying grant sources to support Credit Union initiatives, as well as, developing, writing and submitting grant proposals.

     

    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Manage member communication across the organization to ensure optimization of delivery channel and experience
    • Create, edit and proof written communication
    • Work directly with media contacts as well as the PR firm to consistently pitch new ideas and content and position GTE as a subject matter expert in order to maximize awareness and exposure
    • Develop and disseminate highly-compelling content for internal and external audiences for GTE marketing channels (traditional, video, digital or other formats). This includes planning and coordinating shoots, conception and script writing, onsite direction and production when applicable.
    • Help lead the development and creation of marketing’s major campaigns each month ensuring organizational readiness, goal-setting and evaluation in an ongoing effort to optimize marketing and meet enterprise goals.
    • Utilize project management best practices and methodologies, responsible for owning marketing projects from start to finish including defining scope, to concept design and plan through execution
    • Responsible for conducting the full range of activities required to prepare, submit, and manage grant proposals to foundation and corporate sources.
    • Maintain performance reporting on grants, including grant tracking and reporting. Comply with all grants reporting as required by foundation/corporate donors.
    • Manage the organization’s trademarks and copyrights
    • Understand key business metrics and organizational goals from a strategic perspective
    • Must demonstrate a functional knowledge of the Bank Secrecy Act in addition to other Federal laws, including but not limited to:  U.S. Patriot Act, Office of Foreign Assets & Control, Anti-Money Laundering, Right to Financial Privacy Act, and the Bank Bribery Act

    Required Skills

    EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

     

    • Undergraduate degree required.
    • Min 5 years of experience in corporate communications.

    Required Experience

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

    BI-LINGUAL (SPANISH) A PLUS.

    • Ability to research and compile information for the purpose of recommending marketing and grant opportunities.
    • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills to effectively communicate with Executive Management Team, management, staff, and outside contacts.
    • Excellent writer able to develop effective content quickly and accurately.
    • Excellent analytical and project management skills.
    • Ability to work independently and as a team member, while using discretion in decision making and sound judgment in problem solving.
    • Ability to present a professional image when dealing with members, co-workers, management, and outside contacts.
    • Ability to change within working responsibilities, be it internal, market or regulatory driven.
    • Proficient PC skills, with the ability to learn new software.

     

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

     

    • Additional hours as necessary to accomplish objectives and goals.
