    Requirements: 

    • Experience: 2-3 years’ experience in production or in food/beverage manufacturing
    • Education: Associate Degree or higher in a science related field preferred. High School Diploma/GED or equivalence in work experience will be considered.
    • Languages: Bilingual, English/Spanish (required)

     

    Job Description:

     

    Under the direction of the Quality Assurance Manager, the Quality Assurance Supervisor is responsible for the organization and daily review of Quality Assurance documentation.   The QA Supervisor is the primary point person for completing daily reports to management team ensuring we are meeting local, state and federal requirements. [PR1] 

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Oversee operations in all processing areas to ensure compliance and escalate issues to QA manager
    • Enforce Company policies and procedures and support new management initiatives.
    • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and rewarding work environment.
    • Participate in candidate interviews and orientations to successfully onboard new hires.
    • Manage the accurate reporting of hours worked by direct reports in compliance with CA Wage & Hour Laws.
    • Foster a Food Safety Culture by enforcing GMP best practices and supporting safety initiatives made by the Risk & Safety Department. 
    • Identifies employee training needs and follows through to accomplish the desired results.
    • Provide recommendations, drafts and/or outlines for disciplinary action and any other non-exempt staff documentation and completes annual performance reviews by deadline. 
    • Provides immediate feedback and manages the performance of Quality Assurance and Quality Control Technicians
    • Proactively manage schedules and staffing to meet company needs and maintain overtime to a minimum.
    • Responsible for delegating daily tasks to direct reports.
    • Maintain QA systems to ensure the highest possible standards in raw ingredients and finished products, and conduct food safety audits.
    • Responsible for daily review of all records (must spend at a minimum 80% of the day in the work area). 
    • Monitors Pre-Requisite Program/Procedures documented, reviewed specifications- (i.e., Equipment Calibrations, Recall/Traceability, Glass/Brittle Plastics, Validation/Verification equipment release, etc.)
    • Responsible for documenting root cause investigations (team leader in problem solving summary analysis) and providing recommendations to proactively resolve quality issues.
    • Collaborate with other departmental management teams to ensure accuracy and consistency by using data driven decision making.
    • Perform Quarterly/Semi-Annual/Annual Training/Refresher Training 
    • Perform other duties as assigned

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

     

    • SOP or technical writing skills
    • Must be able to frequently lift and handle up to 50 pounds (match updated QC weight limit)
    • Able to perform work at all levels of reach from standing to stooping positions for entire shift
    • Involves constant movement around the facilities, occasionally in a hot/wet/humid environment (80-90°F) or cold environment (30-40°F)
    • Effective organizational skills
    • Good interpersonal and people management skills

    Proficient in Windows, Microsoft Office, and ERP-based systems
