GWST - Sarasota has a full-time opening for an experienced Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our South Florida region. The candidate must be able to evaluate and repair heavy equipment including but not limited to dozers, excavators, articulated dump trucks, and roll-off trucks in a safe and efficient manner. Applicants must live in South Florida - Sarasota/Bradenton area • Full-Time • Schedule Monday-Friday /Some Weekends • PTO (paid time off) • Sick Time • Paid Holidays Responsibilities: • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on diesel engines and vehicles • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues • Conduct inspections and perform preventative maintenance on diesel equipment • Repair or replace faulty parts and components • Keep accurate records of all repairs and maintenance performed • Adhere to safety protocols and regulations Qualifications: • Proven experience as a Diesel Mechanic or similar role • Strong knowledge of diesel engines and systems • Proficient in using diagnostic tools and equipment • Familiarity with HVAC systems in diesel vehicles • Ability to solder and perform tire service is a plus • Knowledge of tractor-trailer systems is beneficial • Ability to use hand tools and power tools effectively • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail Compensation: $22 - $30 hourly
