    Job description **

    Subarc Welder**

    We are looking for an experienced Sub-Arc Welder to join our growing team at Vessel Fabrication Services a division of Gallop CGI! The ideal candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the welding process, from the initial planning stage to the completion of products. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong communication skills and have a commitment to safety as well as previous experience in fabrication and manufacturing.

    Responsibilities:

    • Weld on carbon steel components together to assemble pressure vessels, tanks, bottles, flanges, and manways.
    • Be able to work with various metals.
    • Follow blueprint design and implement welding fabrication projects.
    • Perform test welds on projects.
    • Work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Perform basic arithmetic with mathematics relevant to the tasks at hand.
    • Use a variety of tools and equipment such as welders and welding guns; interposition; cutting torches; shears; hand tools; measuring devices; grinders; cut-off tools; saws; drills; mechanical and hydraulic hoists.

    Qualifications

    • Must have experience with Sub Arc Welding
    • Minimum 2 years' Sub Arc experience would be considered an asset.
    • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
    • Pre-Employment Drug & Alcohol Screening is a standard requirement.
    • Ability to pass welding qualification test (SAW)

    Requirements:
    - Proven experience as a welder or similar role
    - Proficient in various welding techniques including S MIG, TIG, and arc welding
    - Familiarity with welding codes and standards (e.g., AWS D1.1)
    - Mechanical knowledge and understanding of metal properties
    - Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and welding symbols
    - Strong attention to detail and precision in workmanship
    - Physical stamina to work in various positions (standing, kneeling, bending) for extended periods of time
    - Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity
    - Ability to lift heavy objects and work in confined spaces if required

    Experience level:
    4 years

    Weekly day
    Monday to Friday
    Weekends as needed
