Lauderdale, FL Galloway, Johnson, Tompkins, Burr & Smith, PLC seeks an attorney with 3 - 7 years of defense litigation experience to join our quickly expanding team in Ft. Lauderdale handling: insurance defense, auto and premises liability, construction defect cases, 3rd party property, breach of contract, constitutional defense, trucking and transportation litigation. We are a growing, AV rated, full-service litigation firm with offices and extensive resources for continued expansion in Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Missouri, Alabama, Georgia, and Florida. Applicants must have some independent experience taking depositions, attending hearings and preparing client reports. Responsibilities: • Prepare correspondence and legal documents such as contracts, pleadings, briefs, affidavits, motions, and settlement agreements for contract negotiations and proceedings • Maintain client files in an organized fashion to ensure up-to-date information is handy for other attorneys, paralegals and support staff • Resolve cases efficiently by using communicating effectively with and working alongside senior attorneys and paralegals • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice • Review client issues on legal matters, analyze available options, and diligently work to determine the best course of action Qualifications: • Candidates must have passed the bar exam • Exceptional communication skills and problem-solving skills needed in order to work with all levels of staff and our clients • Willingness to learn from senior attorneys to meet our client needs and grow our client base • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school Compensation: $90,000+ commensurate with experience
