Lauderdale handling: insurance defense, auto and premises liability, construction defect cases, 3rd party property, breach of contract, constitutional defense, trucking and transportation litigation. Applicants must have some independent experience taking depositions, attending hearings and preparing client reports. Responsibilities: • Assist clients in determining a proper solution to legal conflicts and determine the best course of action • Attend court hearings or other legal proceedings, perform legal research, and work with senior associate attorneys to provide legal advice • Draft documents such as correspondence, pleadings, motions, briefs, affidavits, settlement agreements, and contracts to be used proceedings and contract negotiations • Keep files organized to make sure the most recent updates are accessible to other attorneys, paralegals, and staff • Communicate with senior associates, paralegals, and clients to ensure cases are handled efficiently Qualifications: • Applicants must have successfully passed the state bar exam • Ability to work with senior attorneys to best serve client needs and grow our client base • Active member of the American Bar Association (ABA) • Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree required from an accredited law school • Effective communication skills and problem-solving skills are necessary to work with all levels of staff and clients Compensation: $90,000+ commensurate with experience
