    JOB SUMMARY

    The Mechanical Engineering Intern is responsible for assisting the Mechanical team and associated Manufacturing and Quality Partners in developing, maintaining, and testing power management products and fixtures. This role will require attention to detail and innovative problem solving in a team environment in support of successful project conclusions to meet customer and company objectives. The Intern will work under the guidance of senior members of the Mechanical and Electrical engineering teams to design, test and implement a variety of mechanical products and processes including, but not limited to: cable assemblies, electrical housings, mechanical hardware, manufacturing fixtures, and manufacturing process improvements.

    This internship has a start date of mid-May 2021 and ends in mid-late August 2021. This is a paid internship.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

    About the role - you'll need to:

    • Improve the Manufacturability and Weight of the Quad USB Charger
    • Improve the Manufacturability of the PRC-152 adapter
    • Improve the manufacturability of additional accessories yet to be determined

    REQUIRED SKILLS

    About you - you'll need:

    • Actively enrolled in engineering program with focus in Mechanical Engineering.
    • Capable of managing basic engineering projects with close supervision.
    • Ability to take initiative and understand priorities, calling upon a supervisor for clarification as needed.
    • Willing learner; must be able to both work independently on occasion, and as part of a team.
    • Self-initiative with a sense of urgency, accountability, resiliency and persistence.
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced ever changing environment
    • Excellent communication (written and verbal) as well as interpersonal skills.
    • Motivated and creative problem solver.
    • Proficient in basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
    • Proficient in 3D Computer Aided Design.
    • Knowledgeable in machine shop systems and hardware.
    • Knowledge of SolidWorks Simulation or other FEA software a plus.
    • Knowledge of MATLAB or other coding software a plus.
