    THE OPPORTUNITY

    Galvion is looking for hardworking individuals who are looking for part time hours and would like to join our team in Newport, VT. We have a variety of Manufacturing Operator positions in eight different areas: Assembly, Cutting, Edge-Blast-Drill, Finish, Mold, Paint, Staple & Trim.

    • Must have high level of attention to detail.
    • Communication skills to participate in discussions and provide ideas, feedback and suggestions for process improvements.
    • Must be able to adjust to changing situations.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

    Operators will work in a manufacturing team environment ensuring all assigned work procedures are compliant with written work instructions, quality standards and guidelines, or directions from supervisors or leads. Additional work duties to include compliance with general manufacturing housekeeping standards, safety rules and regulations and the flexibility to work on new assignments and miscellaneous duties as assigned.

    YOU WILL BE EVALUATED ON YOUR ABILITY TO

    • Ability/knowledge to identify and work on a variety of materials and products.
    • Ability to pass assignment training and work in a work cell and rotate workstations.
    • Ability to use tracking sheets/labels and systems.
    • Ability to perform visual inspections for cosmetic defects per inspection criteria.
    • Ability/knowledge to identify and wok on a variety of materials and product.
    • Ability to pass training as required and work in a manufacturing environment.
    • Ability to work with computers and machine programs.
    • Ability to do basic troubleshooting and perform visual inspections for cosmetic defects per inspection criteria.
    • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals and apply common sense to assignments.

    WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO SUCCEED

    High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

    Quality Control and Quality Inspection experience is a plus.

    Must be good with numbers and capable of writing legibly to fulfill documentation of production quantities on work orders. Recording numbers and completing paperwork accurately is important.

    Must be willing to work in a team environment and assist co-workers in various roles within the manufacturing department.

    Proficient with basic arithmetic.
