    THE OPPORTUNITY

    The Vice President for the Power & Data Systems (PDS) Line of Business (LOB) is expected to be a seasoned expert who can lead a team of dedicated professionals located in Portsmouth, NH and Marlborough, MA. You will be expected to spend time in both locations.

    The Vice President has full P&L accountability for the LOB, working through the COO for manufacturing services and a shared engineering team for product development. Our ideal candidate is a visionary, hard charging and experienced business area leader who thrives at the intersection of innovation, go-to-market strategy, product development, and customer engagement. This role is ideal for a results-driven, entrepreneurial leader experienced in commercializing and placing existing and new-engineered solutions into a global defense, high-tech electronics market segment that focuses on human centric designs that work in the field.

    Equally comfortable in the Boardroom, in the engineering labs, or interfacing with clients, the Vice President, PDS LOB understands technical specifications and has dealt with stringent customer requirements for quality, delivery and compliance. Ideally, the Vice President will be very familiar with the government requirements & budgeting processes, procurement practices, and product management.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING ****

    • Maximizing sales of existing products, identifying technological advantages, developing product roadmaps, launching products, aligning products with the company's other technologies, and gaining maximum market share of the military Power & Data Systems market segment, both in North America and in key countries around the Globe.
    • Assess, coach and build a high performing, tech-minded and business savvy team.
    • Work to solve our customers' toughest challenges with a system-driven approach.
    • Cover all aspects of the business from product development to market placement, balancing the use of dedicated resources and matrixed functions located in multiple locations.
    • Growing market share with the existing product portfolio, managing launches of recently designed products, and developing longer range product roadmaps, all aimed at achieving a total addressable market share target.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILL & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

    • Engineering Degree and/or MBA is ideal
    • Deep level of demonstrated experience in military electronics and a working knowledge of power & data power solutions
    • 15+ years of experience in product-based, technology-driven businesses, experience integrating human onto the Soldier system a plus
    • Well versed business professional who sees the big picture and what it takes to achieve aggressive goals
    • A strong sense of urgency, an inquisitive mind, and a passion for winning
    • Proficient at developing a product market strategy resulting in an executable business plan
    • Track record of leading a team to successful product development and market placement
    • Financial acumen, budget preparation and program/product management experience is a necessity
    • Experienced leader who has had P & L responsibility for a market segment within in a larger company or a full business area in a smaller environment
    • Must be experienced in making and executing on pivotal decisions
    • Demonstrated successful management and leadership
    • Excellent communications skills – written and verbal across a wide spectrum of audiences from engineers and customers, to the Board of Directors
    • Well-honed presentation skills
    • Knowledge of and experience with new product development and systems engineering will be very useful
    • Very fast-paced environment with ability to manage multiple priorities and customer demands
    • Able to solve problems quickly while keeping personnel motivated to accept change
    • Good computer skills including the use of Microsoft Office suite (Excel, PPT, Teams etc.)
    • Prior military experience a benefit; Knowledge of tactical communications specifically would be a benefit
