We are looking for a Warehouse Associate to join a team of 35+ employees in our new 55,000+ sq. ft warehouse.
- Desired Experience:5+ years of experience in warehousing and distribution facilities.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a management role, overseeing direct reports.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to organize, schedule, and lead to ensure completion of tasks with quality and productivity as the goal.
- Background with warehouse systems management, inventory control, and shipping production efficiency goals.
- Strong experience managing and designing the daily operations of a warehouse environment and supporting team.
- Ambitious work ethic with the desire to get others engaged in the larger picture goal.
- Excellent training and presentation skills and the ability to explain safety concepts to others.
- A rigorous data-driven mentality is a must, and this person needs to have the analytical and quantitative skills necessary to use data to back up forecasts, assumptions, and strategic initiatives.
- Advanced Google Suite skills, specifically within Sheets & Docs.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee the daily functions, operations, and processes of warehousing and shipping operations for an online retailer.
- Manage daily operations, communicate goals, and develop employees within their practice field.
- Ensuring safety and continuous improvement throughout.
- Take an active role in managing the day-to-day operations of supervisors and teams, identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Act as a catalyst for change while standardizing KPI’s, training and leadership procedures, and consistently performing assessments of productivity (30-60-90 and yearly).
- Facilitate communication of goals and changes between upper management and warehouse staff, working cross-functionally with other internal teams.
- Build structure for internal programs through team management including budget, workflow, scheduling, reporting, and more.
- Oversee warehouse equipment maintenance, scheduling, and quality.
- Improve operational overhead through cost-saving initiatives, inventory control, and streamlining warehouse operations and administrative processes.
- Assigns work to warehouse associates and ensures productivity, accuracy, excellent customer service, safe work environment and efficient operations.
- Ensure proper maintenance of and report any issues related to equipment.
- Work with warehouse supervisors to coordinate day-to-day scheduling of associates based on resources, volume, etc.
- Ensure team supervisors are properly training associates; assist with training teams on changes in processes and procedures.
- Coordinate and lead shift meetings and ensure timely communication with associates on various topics (i.e., distribution procedures, safety, human resources programs, etc.).
- Able to safely operate a forklift, picker, and other material handling equipment in use in the warehouse.
- Able to stay calm and function in a stressful, unexpected, or an emergency situation.
- Deep understanding and ability to spearhead the implementation of standard technical systems including WMS, ERP, and conveyor systems. Strategically manage the warehouse in compliance with the company's policies and vision.
- Ensure the health, safety, cleanliness and security of the work environment.
- Report and/or address any issues or work-related injuries and participate in any investigations as required.
- Responsible for overseeing OSHA and safety compliance.
Physical Demands & Work Experience:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee moves different package sizes and weights and is regularly required to walk, stand, sit and use hands and fingers to operate a computer keyboard, mouse, office and warehouse equipment, and RF devices to talk and hear.
- The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, climb or balance.
- The employee is required to lift up to 50 pounds and/or move up to 100 pounds with assistance.
- This position will primarily work in a warehouse environment and may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, cold or elevated ambient temperature, moving mechanical parts, and outside weather conditions.
- The noise level in the work environment is moderate and the environment fast paced.
- This position may require evening or weekend work depending on business needs.
