    POSITION OVERVIEW

    The Bilingual Educational Curriculum & Teacher Resource Writer (K-12) will be responsible for the research and development of the new bilingual educational Teacher Directed Lessons that support Istation’s Spanish Reading Intervention. The job responsibilities will focus specifically on Spanish Language Arts Curriculum and Teacher Resources.

    This educational program is to assists students in Spanish literacy. Achieving academic excellence requires that the Bilingual Curriculum & Teacher Resource Writer works collaboratively with other members of Istation in developing an educational product by ensuring students of all ages receive quality education and learning.

    MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

     

    • Develop teacher directed lessons for grades 4 through 8 that support the objectives addressed in Istation’s Spanish Reading program that integrate research-based best practices in instructional planning and delivery, content pedagogy, and assessment into each session.
    • Document references and obtain copyright permissions for materials used.
    • Respond to feedback and incorporate feedback into lesson design with other members of the team.

    Required Experience

    • experience working with children who are in the bilingual classroom and receive Language Arts instructions in Spanish
    • ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunication
    • bachelor’s degree
    • teaching licensure or certification
    • at least 5 years of teaching experience in high-need schools in bilingual education
    • demonstrated experience utilizing a backward design planning approach, including experience with analyzing state standards, setting measurable goals, designing assessments, and selecting appropriate instructional strategies
    • experience researching and developing educational curriculum for students (from K through 12) and teacher resource training
