    Come be part of growing anesthesia practice in Providence, capital of Rhode Island. Providence is one of the largest cities in the New England Region. Highway runs from north to south through Providence connecting eastern RI and southeastern Massachusetts, including Fall River, New Bedford, Dartmouth Massachusetts, and Cape Cod.     Required Skills

    • Positions patient on operating table and administers local, intravenous, spinal, caudal, or other anesthetic according to prescribed medical standards.
    • May perform duties be in the pain clinic and in a critical care setting.
    • Institutes remedial measures to counteract adverse reactions or complications.
    • May instruct medical students or CRNAs and other personnel in characteristics and methods of administering various types of anesthetics, signs and symptoms of reactions and complications, and emergency measures to employ.
    • Exercises the same independent medical judgment on behalf of the patient as is exercised by other physicians.
    • Adheres to the medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations generally applicable to all physicians granted privileges in the hospital.
    • Shares on a fair and equitable basis in the responsibility for assuring 24-hour-a-day, 7-day-a-week availability of anesthesia care.
    • Responsibilities to the patient should include responsibility for pre-anesthetic evaluation and care, medical management of the anesthetic procedure and of the patient during surgery, post anesthetic evaluation and care, and medical direction of any non-physician who assists in providing anesthesia care to the patient. The anesthesiologist should fulfill these responsibilities to the patient in accordance with the ASA Guidelines for the Ethical Practice of Anesthesiology and Guidelines for Patient Care in Anesthesiology.
    • Works with home office credentialing coordinator to assure accurate credentialing and licensing compliance.
    • Attends staff meetings and site CEU meetings.
    • May conducts evaluations in conjunction with Chairman and Assistant Chairman.
    • Participates in inter-department meetings with various departments.
    • May aid in overseeing anesthesia technicians and may participate in evaluation process.
    • Responsible for ensuring daily, weekly and weekend shift coverage and coordinates daily lunches and breaks in conjunction with the Floor Runner.
    • Creativity and ingenuity are valued but adherence to established practice guidelines is mandatory.
    • May perform other duties as assigned by Chairman of Anesthesia.

    Required Experience

    Requires a degree in Medicine from an accredited school and is licensed to practice.

    May require at least 1-4 years of anesthesiology experience. Board certified or board eligible upon approval from shareholders
