  • Responsibilities

    PAYMENT POSTING SPECIALIST WORKS WITH OUR PEDIATRIC EXTENDED FAMILIES AND OUR DEPARTMENT.  AS A PAYMENT POSTER YOU WILL USE YOUR KNOWLEDGE OF ICD10 AND CPT CODES TO RETREIVE AND PROCESS ELECTRONIC REMITTANCE ADVICES, MATCHING AND POSTING PAYMENTS AND DENIALS. CHECK OUT WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:

    • POST ALL EOBS SCANNED IN NON PATIENT DIRECTORY
    • POST ALL EOBS FAXED BY CLIENT
    • Log into website or clearinghouse and pull EOBs that do not come in ERA or are not scanned or faxed from the office
    • Post and apply all patient payments received from the patient credit report DAILY
    • Enter numbers on tracking document at the end of the day/end of month
    • Notifies Manager of any issues related to adjustments or denials

     

     

     

     

    Required Skills Required Experience

    • Knowledge of Office Practicum EMR/PM a plus
    • Medical Billing Certificate preferred
    • Three to five years in Insurance payment posting experience in a non-hospital setting
    • EXPERIENCE WORKING IN A BILLING SERVICE ENVIRONMENT
    • EXPERIENCE IN PEDIATRIC CLINICAL SETTINGS A PLUS
    • Knowledge of Insurance carrier payment policies, practices and amounts
    • Working knowledge and application of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding
    • Must be comfortable working with different systems and software applications
    • Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks while under pressure
    • Active listening, interpersonal written and oral communication skills needed
    • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
    • Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws necessary
  • Qualifications
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to communicate ideas clearly in oral communications.
    • Ability to organize and schedule time effectively.
    • Successful completion of all assigned training.
    • Must be willing to participate in our After Hours Service Program.
    • Successful completion of a background check as defined by Metro Sales polices.
