We are looking for a motivated Garage Door Service Apprentice to join our growing staff. As an apprentice, your main duties will include assisting with the installation of garage doors in both residential and commercial buildings while learning the trade from experienced technicians. Over time, you'll gain the skills needed to take on more responsibility and eventually help train new team members. You'll be interacting with customers on a daily basis across all of our service areas, so you must possess excellent customer service skills. A person with experience using power tools and a fundamental knowledge of how electrical systems are wired and connected would be an ideal candidate for this position. Responsibilities: • Present options to the customer after inspecting and accurately diagnosing any problems with the current system • Attend meetings, follow all company policies, and participate in decision-making • Utilize software to take notes, make quotes, and create invoices for customers • Be on time for all appointments, and put forth your best effort to satisfy customers • Check the location and measure openings for installation when working on larger jobs • Assist in all aspects of the garage door industry Qualifications: • Skills in math and the ability to solve problems are required, as is the ability to use a measuring tape • This position requires a high school diploma or GED • Working knowledge of electrical wiring and connections • For this role, you need to have outstanding skills in providing service to customers • Competent in the use of both power tools and hand tools Compensation: $18 hourly
