GENERAL DUTIES: Performs selected nursing and clerical duties that assist in the delivery of primary health care and patient care management. Other duties as assigned by Supervisor.

EXAMPLE OF DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)

1. Assists nurses in clinical area with patient care.

2. Maintains timely flow of patients.

3. Greets patients and prepares them for physician examination.

4. Screens patients for appropriate information.

5. Transports patients by wheelchair to exit.

6. Assists nurse in disinfecting and cleaning of exam rooms.

7. Responsible for preparation of exam rooms including restocking and cleaning.

8. Assists nurses in preparing forms and schedules prior to patient’s arrival.

9. Cleans and disinfects all clinic equipment and related instruments as needed.

10. Keeps work area clean.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

Knowledge of clinic instruments, and procedures to operate, clean, and sterilize. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public. Ability to read and understand oral and written instructions. Ability to follow written protocols. Ability to work independently. Ability to communicate clearly.

EDUCATION: High school diploma or equivalent.
