Position Summary
The Assistant Media Planner/Buyer is responsible for providing administrative and analytical support in the development, execution, and maintenance of media plans.
Key Job Elements
- Work with media team on development, negotiation, implementation, tracking, and optimization of media campaigns
- Develop and present POVs and media analyses to agency team and clients
- Meet with media representatives to learn various media types and vendors
- Learn media tools such as Kantar and MRI to generate appropriate reports (competitive, performance tracking, budget reporting, etc.)
- Enter media contracts into STRATA
- Clear up billing discrepancies, negotiate makegoods and credits
- Ensure orders are sent and received by agency vendors
- Become familiar with online ad serving software
- Pull media reports from various software and social platforms
- Coordinate deliverables with account team, including collecting creative specs, relaying creative deadlines, and assisting in campaign setup
- Track media expenditures to ensure agency and client budget compliance
- Conduct research on new media opportunities
- General assistance to the Media Department
Other requirements:
- B.S. or B.A. degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or a related field
- Minimum 3.5 GPA
- Fast learner who easily adapts to various agency and client demands
- A strong work ethic with the self-motivation needed to exceed expectations
- Excellent written and verbal communicator, optimistic outlook, positive attitude, outgoing personality
- Exemplary organizational and multi-tasking abilities
- The drive and ability to prioritize while working on multiple assignments under deadline pressures is crucial.
- Media or related internship experience preferred
