We are seeking a motivated Construction Superintendents to support our projects located throughout New York City. As a Gateway Construction Superintendent, you will take responsibility for everything needed to get our construction projects done on time, and on budget. Responsibilities
- Finish project on schedule & on budget
- Ensure Quality Workmanship Per Plans, Specs & Company Standards
- Enforce jobsite safety (PPE and safe work conditions of self-perform crew and subs)
- Be capable of managing/coordinating multiple quick-turn projects simultaneously
- Manage subcontractors effectively/efficiently
- Manage in-house employees – assistant superintendents, laborers
- Interaction with clients, architects, engineers
- Create lookahead schedule weekly and submit to PM every Friday (Self Perform Labor, Company Equipment & Tools, Rental Equipment, Materials, Subcontractors & Trades, Inspections)
- Call for and manage all inspections through completion
- Verification of compliance with submittals
- Complete daily log DAILY for all projects being managed
- Ensure finished and installed construction is adequately protected at all times
- Never leave the jobsite unsupervised
- Ensure jobsite is cleaned and free from hazards twice a day (lunch and end of day)
- Receiving and inspecting jobsite deliveries
- Create punch list for all self-perform and subs weekly
- Ensuring all tools and equipment are secured
- Lead and attend meetings:
- Attend project kickoff meeting with PM & Estimator. Responsible for making project schedule
- Attend project kickoff meeting with PM, client, & design team
- Have project kickoff meetings with all subs within 2 weeks of project handoff meeting
- Meet onsite with all subcontractors 2 weeks before they are needed on site
- Meet with PM bi-weekly for project review meeting
- Daily field kickoff meeting with self-perform and subs
Requirements
- High school diploma required; junior college or construction education desired
- Must have great oral and written communication skills
- Five-year minimum experience as Lead Superintendent in interior, high-end commercial general contracting
- Demonstrate proficiency in reading commercial construction plans and specifications
- Experience managing subcontractors
- Must be able to efficiently multi-task
- Excellent time management
- Ability to work with tools to perform various phases of construction work is a plus
- OSHA 30 or Higher
- Excellent MS Word, Excel, Outlook skills required. MS Project or SmartSheets, & Procore experience is a plus
- Must be able to quickly navigate applications on Microsoft and apple products
- Technologically Savvy (can understand how to set up computers, download software, etc.)
- Organized and detail oriented
- Must be a self-starter who takes responsibility for their work and gets the job done
- Can work extremely well with others

- Prior experience performing and leading carpentry work is a plus
