    GATEWAY DOMESTIC VIOLENCE SERVICES IS SEARCHING FOR AN ENTHUSIASTIC VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR!

    WHAT WE DO

    Since 1979, Gateway shelters have provided caring, comprehensive services and safe shelter to adults and dependent children fleeing domestic violence. Our 24/7 shelters offer licensed counseling, emergency and extended-stay care, and court advocacy services for victims of domestic violence and their families, in Arapahoe County, Colorado.

    Working with Gateway provides an opportunity to serve the community and support our mission to prevent and eliminate intimate partner violence through counseling, residential care, and empowering people for social change.

    THE OPPORTUNITY Under the supervision of the Executive Director, this position will be responsible for recruiting, screening, and training new individual volunteers and will work collaboratively with program directors to decide the best opportunities for volunteers within each program. As the Volunteer Coordinator, you will support our organization's mission and ensure our appreciation is communicated to those who choose to aid us.

    THIS ROLE IS ANTICIPATED TO WORK 20 HOURS PER WEEK WITH A HIRING PAY RATE OF $21.15 PER HOUR.

    As a part-time employee, you are entitled to vacation, sick leave and Gateway recognized holidays on a pro rata basis.

    WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING

    • Recruiting, training, and supervising new volunteers.
    • Collecting volunteer information, availability, and skills, and maintaining an up-to-date database.
    • Tracking volunteers' hours contributed, as well as managing ongoing communication with and appreciation of all volunteers.
    • Using marketing tools such as outreach programs and social media to increase the awareness of Gateway Domestic Violence Services and the volunteer program.
    • Keeping new and existing volunteers informed about the organization and volunteer opportunities.
    • Matching volunteers to opportunities that suit their skill sets, and ensuring they understand their responsibilities and receive the proper training.
    • Organize training program include on the job learning.
    • Keep schedules and records of volunteers' work.
    • Develop and implement operating procedures to uphold Gateway's values.
    • Manage and participate in community outreach operations.
    • Working with groups of volunteers to support our mission.
    • Represent the organization and the mission professionally and with passion.

    WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO OUR ORGANIZATION

    • Associate's degree in Human Resources, Social Work, or related field preferred, but related work experience will be considered.
    • Understanding of the dynamics of domestic violence helpful.
    • Experience in volunteer management or related experience strongly preferred.
