    Bookkeeper Needed We are a brand new Local Geico Office here in beautiful Burbank CA.Our office is conveniently located right next to the local Portos bakery here in Magnolia Blvd.

    We are looking for a full-time experienced professional bookkeeper to help our company with accounting and operations.

    You will work closely with the owner and learn the processes and tasks that keep our accounting and operations running.

    This position is responsible for recording and overseeing the financial accounts and records of our Burbank location, by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and by making daily financial entries, reconciliations, and oversight.

    This position is also responsible for making accurate and timely payments to accounts payable and maintaining proper records of these transactions. In the capacity of bookkeeper, this position must also prepare sales tax filings and make appropriate and timely sales tax payments, as well as prepare the Company’s federal and state income tax filings and make appropriate and timely federal and state income tax payments.

    Daily accounting functions will include monthly financial reporting, general ledger entries, and recording payments and adjustments. The position will also be required to communicate with the Company’s outside payroll company to assure accurate and timely payment of employee wages (including commissions as applicable), as well as the issuance of accurate, timely wage statements to employees.

    The position requires maintaining the highest degree of confidentiality.

    The position requires the ability to manage multiple projects, as well as meeting time constraints and expectations. This list of job duties and responsibilities is not exclusive and is subject to periodic revision and amendment as the needs of the Company change or evolve.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

    · Maintains and records a complete and systematic set of financial ledgers.

    · Balance’s ledgers, reconciles accounts, and prepares reports to show receipts, expenditures, accounts receivable and accounts payable.

    · Ensures compliance.

    · Develops bookkeeping policies and procedures.

    · Processes accounts payable and accounts receivable.

    · Pays accounts payable in a timely fashion.

    · Tracks and records customer orders, invoices, and payments.

    · Manages payroll by interfacing with the Company’s outside payroll company to ensure accurate and timely payment to employees and delivery to employees of accurate, timely and legally compliant wage statements.

    · Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing reports and advising management on needed actions.

    · Maintains the highest degree of confidentiality with respect to the Company’s financial, contractual and personnel information.

    · Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.

    Qualifications/Requirements

    · College level accounting or related field coursework

    · Three to five years’ similar experience

    · Strong organizational skills

    · Strong attention to detail

    · Good written and verbal communication skills

    · Good financial math skills and knowledge of accounting principles

    · Good records management and data entry skills

    · Knowledge of financial reporting requirements

    · Familiarity with office and accounting software and phone systems

    · Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, customers, and vendors.

    · Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

    · Ability to multi-task and meet tight deadlines.

    · Excellent problem-solving skills

    · Must be well-organized and detail oriented.

    Eligibility Requirements

    · Must have unrestricted work authorization to work in the United States.

    · Must be willing to submit to a background investigation.
