    Job Summary:

    We are seeking a dedicated and skilled General Cardiologist to join our growing team. The ideal candidate will be passionate about providing comprehensive cardiovascular care to a diverse patient population, with a focus on prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of heart disease. As a General Cardiologist at Cardiology Associates of Altoona, LLP, you will have the opportunity to work in a dynamic, collaborative environment, using state-of-the-art technology to deliver high-quality care.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Patient Care & Diagnosis:

      • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients with a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, including hypertension, coronary artery disease, heart failure, arrhythmias, and valvular heart disease.
      • Conduct comprehensive physical exams, interpret diagnostic tests, and develop personalized treatment plans.
      • Perform procedures such as echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterizations, as necessary, and coordinate with the team for further diagnostic evaluations.
    • Consultations & Follow-Up Care:

    * Provide expert consultations to patients referred by primary care physicians or other specialists.
    * Follow up with patients to monitor their progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
    * Manage long-term care for patients with chronic cardiovascular conditions, ensuring optimal management and lifestyle modifications.
    
    • Collaboration & Teamwork:
    * Work closely with the cardiology team, including nurses, physician assistants, technicians, and support staff to provide comprehensive care.
    * Collaborate with other specialists and healthcare providers to manage complex patient cases.
    * Participate in case discussions, medical rounds, and multidisciplinary team meetings to ensure the highest quality of care.
    
    • Patient Education & Advocacy:
    * Educate patients and their families on cardiovascular health, disease prevention, and lifestyle modifications (diet, exercise, smoking cessation).
    * Provide guidance on medication management, potential side effects, and adherence to prescribed treatments.
    * Advocate for patients' needs and ensure that they fully understand their diagnosis and treatment options.
    
    • Clinical Leadership & Development:
    * Contribute to the development of clinical protocols and care guidelines.
    * Stay current with the latest cardiovascular research, trends, and treatment modalities.
    * Mentor and provide guidance to medical residents, fellows, or other junior healthcare providers, as applicable.
    

    Qualifications:

    • Education & Training:

      • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) from an accredited medical school.
      • Completion of an accredited Cardiology Fellowship program.
    • Licensure & Certification:

    * Board-certified or board-eligible in Cardiology.
    * Current, unrestricted medical license to practice in the state of Pennsylvania or the ability to obtain one.
    * Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
    
    • Experience:
    * At least 3 years of experience in a general cardiology setting, although new fellows and recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
    * Experience in reading and interpreting echocardiograms, stress tests, and other diagnostic cardiovascular procedures is preferred.
    * Proficiency in the use of electronic health records (EHR) systems.
    
    • Skills & Abilities:
    * Strong clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
    * Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
    * Ability to manage complex cardiovascular cases and provide compassionate care to a diverse patient population.
    * Collaborative approach to patient care with a focus on teamwork and continuous learning.
