    Job Description

    PROJECT ENGINEER

    The ideal candidate will have 4+ years of commercial/healthcare or DSA construction industry experience. A Bachelor’s degree is desired, but not necessary. Experience using the most current software programs such as Microsoft Office including MS Project, Excel, and project management software.

    The PE responsibility is to lend support to the Project Superintendent and Sr. Project Manager in order to complete the Work on schedule, within the budget and to the quality of workmanship specified.

    Duties:

    • Assist the Superintendent on projects as needed including field management of sub-contractors, vendors, scheduling, quality control, safety.

    • Assist the Superintendent on submission of RFI's,

    • Assist the Project Manager in the initial set-up of the job including administrative files, logs, registers and recording of documents.

    • Assist the Project Manager to establish with the Owner and Architect procedures for communication, correspondence, approvals and meetings.

    • Have a complete and thorough understanding of the Contract Documents including the plans.

    • Initiate and respond to any correspondence necessary in connection with the processing of project Requisitions and PO's for approval.

    • Attend the Project weekly coordination meeting and to assist the Project Manager write and transcribe the minutes of those meetings.

    • Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of Bid Packages, during the bidding period and with the distribution of the bid documents as required.

    • Assist the Project Manager in the refinement and updating of the Project Schedule as may be necessary.

    • Issue and log Requests for Information,Shut Down Notices, Hot Work permits, etc. to the Architect/Owner as required.

    • Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of Proposal Requests, Change Order Proposal and Change Orders.

    • Assist the Project Manager in the preparation of regular reports for the Owner as required.

    • Manage the closeout process as it relates to operation and maintenance manuals, as-built drawings, warranties, Owner's stock, consent of surety to final payment, training sessions and final waiver of lien.

    • Maintain excellent relations and communications with all those involved in the project

    • This is a full time, position.

    • Work may be performed partly in the field and partly in the office

    • Background and drug test is required.
