  • Responsibilities

    Job Description

    The General Counsel will serve as Pramira’s primary legal advisor , providing hands-on legal support across employment law, workers’ compensation, litigation, and contract management. This role will work closely with executive leadership, HR, operations, and project teams to manage legal risk and ensure compliance with California law.

    Key Responsibilities

    Labor & Employment Law (Primary Focus)

    • Provide legal guidance on California labor and employment law.

    • Advise leadership and HR on employee discipline, terminations, workplace investigations, and wage and hour compliance.

    • Ensure compliance with federal and California employment laws including FEHA, ADA, FLSA, OSHA, and California Labor Code.

    • Develop and maintain employment policies and compliance procedures.

    • Assist with internal investigations and risk management related to workforce issues.

    Workers’ Compensation

    • Provide legal oversight on workers’ compensation claims and compliance.

    • Coordinate with HR, insurance carriers, and safety teams on claim strategy and resolution.

    • Advise leadership on return-to-work programs and claims management.

    Litigation & Dispute Resolution

    • Represent Pramira directly in litigation, arbitration, mediation, and administrative proceedings.

    • Handle disputes involving employment law, contract claims, workers’ compensation matters, and construction-related issues.

    • Draft pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal briefs.

    • Manage depositions, hearings, settlement negotiations, and case strategy.

    Contracts & Corporate Legal Support

    • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements including:

      • construction contracts

      • subcontract agreements

      • vendor agreements

      • NDAs

      • professional services agreements.

    • Provide legal guidance to project teams on contract terms and risk allocation.

    • Support leadership on regulatory compliance, licensing matters, and corporate governance.

  • Qualifications

    Qualifications

    • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

    • Active member of the California State Bar (required)

    • Minimum 5–7+ years of legal experience

    • Strong experience with California labor and employment law

    • Experience handling workers’ compensation matters

    • Experience representing clients in litigation or dispute resolution

    • Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.

    Preferred:

    • Experience in the construction or infrastructure industry

    • Experience supporting companies with large field workforces.

    $120,000-$120,000 per year
