Shift: 2:00 pm-10:30 pm
Pay: $18/hr
Job Summary
This role is not assigned to a particular area and supports multiple departments by assisting with machine operations, welding preparation, material handling, cleaning, and general maintenance tasks.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform various entry-level duties such as moving assemblies, machinery, furniture, patterns, fences, timbers, digging ditches, cleaning roofs, acid tanks, and floors.
- Operate machines as qualified.
- Lift, position, and remove workpieces from machines to assist in fitting and welding.
- Perform spot welding and operate welding equipment as required.
- Load, stack, and transport stock, tools, dies, and work-in-process materials by hand or truck.
- Clean and scrape metal surfaces prior to fabricating, welding, painting, or shipping.
- Collect and remove scrap from work areas.
- Maintain cleanliness of work area, machines, tools, and equipment.
- Load and unload production machinery per posted instructions.
- Conduct visual safety inspections at the start of shift and record findings on appropriate checklists.
- Report any abnormalities of parts, tools, or machinery to the Supervisor or Lead Hand.
- Change to other machines, tasks, or departments as directed by the Supervisor or Lead Hand.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Key Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Hi-lo license and crane operator license.
- Strong initiative and willingness to learn.
- Ability to prioritize workload, work with urgency, and adapt to changing needs.
- Positive and professional demeanor with the ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean, safe, and organized working environment.
- Flexibility to work varied hours, including unscheduled overtime when necessary.
