General Laborer

Position Overview
A General Laborer supports daily production operations within a manufacturing facility. This role involves hands-on work such as material handling, equipment assistance, basic assembly, and maintaining a clean and safe work environment. Ideal candidates are reliable, safety‑minded, and comfortable working in an industrial setting.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Operate basic manufacturing or fabrication equipment under supervision.
- Load, unload, and move materials throughout the facility.
- Assist machine operators, welders, fabricators, or technicians as needed.
- Perform general assembly, packaging, or finishing tasks depending on department needs.
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas, including sweeping, debris removal, and organizing tools.
- Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and company policies.
- Inspect materials or finished products for quality concerns and report issues.
- Support production teams with miscellaneous tasks to ensure workflow efficiency
Required Skills & Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs and stand for extended periods.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn new equipment.
- Strong work ethic, punctuality, and attention to detail.
- Ability to work in hot, cold, or noisy environments typical of manufacturing facilities.
- Team-oriented attitude with good communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in manufacturing, fabrication, warehouse, or industrial labor.
- Forklift certification or experience (company may provide training).
- Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, or industrial equipment.
Work Environment
This role is typical of Pineville-area manufacturers such as steel fabricators, machining shops, and industrial product facilities. Work may involve:
- Exposure to metal fabrication, machining, coatings, or assembly environments.
- Indoor/outdoor tasks depending on production needs.
- Fast-paced production schedules with potential overtime.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50 lbs. regularly and heavier loads with assistance.
- Frequent standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling, and reaching throughout the shift.
- Ability to climb stairs, ladders, or access elevated work areas as needed.
- Manual dexterity to handle tools, materials, and small components.
- Ability to work in environments that may be hot, cold, dusty, or noisy.
- Must be able to remain on feet for 8–12 hour shifts , depending on production schedule.
- Visual acuity to inspect materials and follow safety procedures.
- Ability to wear required PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, steel‑toe boots, hearing protection, and respirators (if applicable).
