Job Summary

KoBolt Construction is seeking a dependable and hardworking Construction Laborer and Materials Runner to support our construction crews and daily jobsite operations.

Responsibilities include performing general construction labor, assisting with demolition, maintaining clean and organized jobsites, loading and unloading materials, removing construction debris, and purchasing and delivering tools, parts, and building materials from suppliers such as The Home Depot, Ganahl Lumber, Ferguson, and other local vendors.

The employee will regularly operate a company truck and may be required to haul and operate an 18-foot hydraulic dump trailer. Applicants must have experience safely hauling, maneuvering, backing up, loading, unloading, and operating a truck and trailer combination.

The ideal candidate is dependable, safety-conscious, physically capable, and willing to assist wherever needed. This position requires punctuality, good judgment, careful handling of company vehicles and equipment, and the ability to follow instructions from foremen and supervisors.

Responsibilities

Perform general construction labor, including demolition, digging, loading, unloading, lifting, and jobsite preparation

Assist carpenters, painters, welders, and other tradespeople as directed

Keep jobsites clean, organized, and free of trash, debris, excess materials, and potential hazards

Load, secure, transport, and unload construction materials, tools, and equipment

Purchase and deliver construction materials, tools, and parts from approved suppliers

Confirm material descriptions, quantities, and dimensions before leaving a supplier

Maintain and promptly turn in receipts, invoices, change, and other purchase documentation

Communicate with the foreman or supervisor regarding material availability, substitutions, pricing differences, or order discrepancies

Safely operate company trucks and, when required, tow and operate an 18-foot hydraulic dump trailer

Properly secure all materials, tools, and debris before transportation

Perform dump runs and dispose of construction debris at approved facilities

Operate hand tools, power tools, and other construction equipment safely and properly

Set up cones, barricades, warning signs, and other safety equipment as needed

Assist with setting up, moving, and dismantling temporary structures or scaffolding

Inspect company vehicles, trailers, tools, and equipment before use and promptly report damage, unsafe conditions, or needed repairs

Help maintain company trucks, trailers, tools, and storage areas in a clean and orderly condition

Follow all company policies, jobsite safety requirements, traffic laws, and supervisor instructions

Perform other construction-related and manual-labor duties as assigned

Qualifications

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record

Must be eligible to drive company vehicles under the company’s insurance requirements

Demonstrated ability to safely haul, maneuver, back up, and operate a truck with a trailer

Previous construction, demolition, warehouse, delivery, and/or general-labor experience is preferred

Familiarity with common construction materials, tools, and suppliers is preferred

Ability to safely operate hand tools and power tools

Ability to understand and follow verbal and written instructions

Ability to accurately verify material types, quantities, sizes, and purchase orders

Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills

Dependable, punctual, and able to manage time efficiently

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Ability to work independently while completing material pickups and deliveries

Ability to work safely in active construction environments and changing weather conditions

Willingness to travel between jobsites, suppliers, company facilities, and disposal locations during the workday

Construction-related certifications are preferred but not required

Physical Requirements

Ability to frequently lift, carry, push, or pull construction materials and equipment

Ability to perform physically demanding work for extended periods

Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, dig, and work on uneven surfaces

Ability to safely enter and exit trucks, trailers, and active construction areas

Ability to work indoors and outdoors in heat, cold, dust, and other typical jobsite conditions
