Job Description
We are seeking a full time General Maintenance Technician whose primary responsibilities include fixing and maintaining plumbing, electrical, HVAC and general building infrastructure, making sure all mechanical areas of the hotel are operating correctly within the guidelines set forth by management. The right candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to handle problems that arise in a timely manner with professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
Preventative Maintenance: Help perform scheduled maintenance on guest rooms, public areas, and equipment (HVAC, boilers, kitchen/laundry equipment) to prevent disruptions.
Repair & Maintenance: Assist in completing work orders for painting, patching walls, replacing light bulbs, repairing furniture, and fixing plumbing fixtures.
Guest Service: Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests for repairs in their rooms.
Property Upkeep: Maintain the exterior of the hotel, including landscaping, lighting, and removal of brush, leaves and/or debris.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to all OSHA safety regulations, maintain Safety Data Sheets, handle chemicals securely, and maintain pool/spa chemical levels.
Reporting: Notify management of major repairs; assist in monitoring inventory of supplies and maintaining maintenance logs.
Required Skills and Qualifications
Experience: 1-2 years in maintenance, construction, or technical trades required.
Technical Skills: Experience in plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and/or general repairs required.
Physical Ability: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, stand/walk for long periods, climb ladders, and work in varied indoor/outdoor conditions.
Communication: Strong customer service skills to interact with guests and staff.
Tools: Ability to use hand and power tools as needed.
Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Licenses: Valid Driver’s License required.
Compensation and Benefits
$20 to $22 per hour, based on experience
