    Position Reference: 01CLFCO001

    CLF Consultants seeks a General Maintenance Worker at the Weber Basin Job Corps Center in the Ogden, Utah area. The Maintenance Worker keeps residential facilities and grounds safe and operational, performing plumbing, electrical, HVAC, and carpentry work and operating equipment across a multi-building campus. This is a part-time, W-2 role (Service Contract Act covered) of approximately 1,040 hours per year, and includes seasonal snow removal.

    The successful candidate is a hands-on, multi-skilled tradesperson who works safely and independently, diagnoses and corrects facility conditions, and handles seasonal demands including snow removal in a mountain-climate setting.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain residential facilities, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, using sound trade practices.
    • Apply working knowledge of combustion, heat-transfer principles, and fuel characteristics in servicing building systems.
    • Perform basic carpentry using accurate measurement with tapes, rulers, and squares, and safe use of shop and common power tools.
    • Operate equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, and forklifts, and tow trailers as needed for facility work.
    • Operate vehicles up to a one-ton capacity in the performance of assigned duties.
    • Perform grounds maintenance, which may include applying chemicals and repairing irrigation systems.
    • Assist with winter snow removal, including operating a snowplow and salter machine.
    • Identify and analyze facility conditions and perform complex maintenance functions that vary by task, following OSHA safety precautions.

    Required Qualifications

    • Experience in building or facility maintenance across two or more trades, such as plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or carpentry.
    • Ability to operate equipment such as backhoes, skid steers, forklifts, and to tow trailers.
    • Valid driver's license, with ability to operate vehicles up to a one-ton capacity.
    • Physical ability to stand, bend, walk, lift, stoop, stretch, and carry items or equipment weighing more than 45 pounds.
    • Willingness to perform seasonal snow removal and outdoor work in a mountain climate.
    • Ability to pass the background screening required for work at a federal Job Corps Center.

    Strongly Preferred Qualifications

    • Trade certification or license in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, or a related field.
    • Forklift or heavy-equipment operator certification.
    • Prior experience maintaining a campus, residential facility, school, or institutional property.
    • Experience with irrigation systems, grounds chemical application, or snow-removal equipment operation.

    Compensation and Engagement Details

    • Hourly base range: $17.56 to $21.25 per hour, commensurate with experience.
    • SCA Health and Welfare fringe benefit added on all paid hours.
    • Paid time off and federal holiday recognition consistent with Service Contract Act requirements.
    • Part-time schedule of approximately 1,040 hours per year, with predictable Center-set shifts.
    • CLFC PMO administrative support: onboarding, credential verification, and federal compliance attestation.
