Position Summary The General Manager of Construction is responsible for a wide range of functions necessary to successfully manage the construction division. This role oversees departmental budgets, daily operations, and continuous improvement while ensuring a consistently high quality of service in all interactions with customers, clients, subcontractors, resource providers, and company employees involved in construction services.
Primary Responsibilities
Oversee and ensure customer and client satisfaction
Monitor volume of work
Develop departmental budgets for General Manager approval
Assist in finding and vetting subcontractors
Manage all aspects of the construction division
Manage daily operations of the construction team
Validate potential construction leads
Assign leads/projects to construction managers and superintendents
Ensure the construction team follows proper work processes
Review and evaluate estimates created by construction managers
Perform project management tasks to support the construction team as needed (e.g., high-volume periods or large projects)
Assist Construction Managers with budgeting and bidding
Conduct weekly Work-in-Progress meetings with the construction team
Train construction team members
Conduct periodic performance reviews with individual construction team members
Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or GED required
Previous construction management experience
Excellent organizational and leadership skills
Ability to meet established production goals and maintain profitability
Effective written and oral communication skills
Salary
$90,000 – $100,000/year (based on experience)
