That belief is behind everything we are building at D1 Sports Training Westborough- the first D1 in MetroWest, opening fall 2026. We are looking for a General Manager who believes that too and wants to be on the ground floor of building it.
This is not an entry-level role. The right person can step in immediately, drive membership sales, lead staff, manage financial performance, and deliver a world-class experience for every athlete and member who walks through the door.

What You Will Do: Pre-Opening:
Trained in D1 Pre-Sales Process
Drive founding membership growth through GPS leads and self-generated outreach
Own the presales pipeline through the 123-day presales window
Recruiting, Hiring, and Training your Team
After Opening: Sales Leadership
Close membership and personal training sales from day one
Conduct goal-setting consultations and facility tours
Team Leadership
Lead and develop facility staff
Hold weekly staff meetings and one-on-ones
Set the tone for energy, accountability, and culture
Business Operations
Manage facility KPIs and overall performance
Review financial performance and budgets with ownership monthly
Oversee scheduling, staffing, and daily operations
Member Experience
Ensure every member receives a world-class training experience
Handle member communication and build the community
Key Skills Required For the Position:
PRESALES- In the months leading up to opening you are building our member base furiously to ensure success.
SALES. You should be able to walk in on day one & close over 50% of the leads you sit down to meet with.
LEADERSHIP. You should be a first-one-in, last-one-out leader. You should be able to hold weekly 1 on 1 meeting, and weekly staff meetings, hold staff accountable, & lead your team to business growth.
FINANCE. You need to have the ability to manage the facility P&L. You will meet with ownership monthly to review your budget vs what actually happened line item by line item.
Qualifications
Associate Degree
3 years of management
Can out-sell anyone in the room & loves it
Knowledge of gym and retail operations
Positive and energetic personality with a “can do” attitude
Is a manager who will be the first one in & the last one to leave
Compensation & Earnings Potential:
Top performers can earn up to $85,000-$105,000 total annually in this role
In addition to Base salary, this role includes a performance-driven commission and bonus structure.
Founding GMs who hit presales targets earn milestone bonuses on top of per-membership commissions.
Post-open compensation includes quarterly profit sharing tied directly to facility performance- the better the business runs, the more you earn.
