Job Title: General Manager
Location: Mass Appeal Draught House & Grille Status: Full Time
Reports to: Director of Hospitality
Salary Range: $65k-$75k per year
Description/Expectations:
Hendler Family Brewing Company is reopening its newly renovated taproom at Patriot Place, and we're gearing up for an exciting next chapter. The refreshed space is bigger and better, built to give guests more room to relax, enjoy great beer, and dig into something delicious.
We're launching a full kitchen program alongside the reopening — a menu built around elevated New England classics — and we're looking for the right people to help bring it to life. This is a ground-floor opportunity to help shape something new, in a space that's growing, and with a team that genuinely cares about doing things well.
HFBC brews will be pouring, the kitchen will be firing, and we are looking for good people to make it all happen.
We need a dynamic hospitality professional to join our team as the General Manager.
Working under the direction of the Director of Hospitality, the GM leads by example and sets the tone and standards for excellence across the restaurant. With a passion for customer service, the successful candidate is constantly looking for ways to improve the guest experience at Patriot Place while ensuring the restaurant remains an inclusive, positive, and overall great place to work. The GM has a clear understanding of both company and location-specific goals and serves as a champion of these goals within the restaurant.
Essential Functions and Duties:
Provide day-to-day leadership for all staff and business operations
Ensure responsive, exceptional guest satisfaction regularly
Communicate and embody the company vision, culture, and values within the restaurant
Work with hospitality, marketing and events team(s) to plan and execute private and public events
Grow and develop staff through timely feedback and development plans. Provide performance-based coaching and feedback as needed.
In conjunction with finance team, manage and approve all invoices and expenses related to Patriot Place operation
Partner with HR to own recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and training front of house team members
Set proper staffing levels and weekly scheduling to meet high service level standards while maintaining staffing costs at an appropriate level
Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent required; Certificate, Associates or Bachelors in business management or hospitality a strong plus
TIPS and/or ServSafe & Crowd Manager Certified
Minimum 5+ years hospitality experience required; minimum 2+ years of management experience required
Brewery experience a plus
Demonstrated experience in staff management through strong leadership and development
Ability to develop cross-functional relationships and work collaboratively
Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed; this is not a Monday - Friday, 9 - 5 role!
Experience using data to make decisions is a strong plus
Ability to work with timesheet, word processing, and excel programs
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift at least 50 lb
Ability to stand for extended periods of time
Continuously reach, bend, lift, carry, stoop and wipe
