SUMMARY:
Complete P&L responsibility for construction operations providing pier drilling and deep foundation civil construction services within the Texas market.
Compensation: $200,000 - $250,000 base salary, equity, quarterly bonus, vehicle, comprehensive benefits, and more.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform on-site management, supervision and coordination of all self-performed and subcontracted work
Execute field construction activities in conformance with project drawings, specifications, schedules, cost estimates, procedures, quality requirements and safety standards
Control project schedule and cost through the efficient use of all construction resources including workforce, materials, tools, and equipment
Provide input for the development of project schedules in cooperation with the construction engineers and planners
Confirm that daily and weekly short-range planning is maintained down to the foreman level
Review design scope and approach with regard to constructability and submit recommendations for change
Determine manpower levels to attain schedule milestones and monitor manpower levels and craft mixes to ensure conformance with the construction plan
Control change/scope creep, ensuring that all scope changes are quickly and properly documented and that change orders are approved prior to the performance of work
Play an active role in the development of the safety culture on the project, making safety a natural part of all work performed
Assist the Site Project Manager in the overall administration of labor relations policies
Manage the contractual commitments of contractors, including cost, quality, and schedule and coordinate their field activities
Maintain an effective plan for the supply and control of tools and supplies
Fulfill contract and Operating System Requirements (OSR)/Operating System Implementation Plan (OSIP) requirements by ensuring that the duties and responsibilities of the project contract are clearly defined, documented, and followed by the team
Identify future client requirements and up-selling opportunities by developing on-site assessments of client operations and proposing project plans
Support sales efforts by assisting in sales presentations, estimates, and proposals including negotiating commercial terms
Achieve business goals by hiring qualified candidates, communicating job expectations. Approving performance appraisals; conducting salary administration, coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
Drive business growth through expanding service offerings within existing clients.
Champion communication with clients and promote client partner culture in collaboration with business development team.
Sponsor business development pursuits, key partnerships, strategy and initiatives, including development and review of proposals and estimates.
Provide market sponsorship and monitor performance routinely using pre-defined metrics (Ex: progress of projects, financial health, schedule adherence, risk and opportunities, claims).
Manage project's financial performance, revenue delivered, and achieved gain
Actively collaborate in development of business planning and market strategy
REQUIREMENTS:
15+ years of related experience in civil construction.
High school diploma required. Bachelor degree in construction management, civil, engineering, business management or similar a plus.
Prior experience managing pier drilling, and/or deep foundation civil projects strongly preferred.
Broad management knowledge to lead teams on multiple projects.
Ability to learn and apply knowledge of local state and federal statues and guidelines.
Ability to recruit, onboard and train new hires.
Ability to develop and maintain an active safety culture.
Strong written and oral communication skills.
Extensive site construction experience required.
Advanced computer skills required related to Microsoft Office products and other industry standard applications.
