Job Summary
KIN. Social by Quartiere Restaurant Holdings is seeking an experienced, hands-on General Manager to lead our Stamford restaurant.
We’re looking for a leader who understands that a successful restaurant is built on more than strong sales. It requires great hospitality, consistent standards, a well-supported team, disciplined operations, and attention to the numbers behind the business.
The General Manager will oversee the day-to-day operation of KIN. Social while developing a strong management and service team, maintaining our standards, and creating an environment where both guests and employees feel welcomed and valued.
This is a highly visible, hands-on leadership position. The ideal candidate is comfortable being present on the floor, coaching in the moment, solving problems, analyzing performance, and taking ownership of the restaurant as a whole.
Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
Lead, coach, and develop managers and hourly team members
Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, and retain strong employees
Establish clear expectations and hold the team accountable to restaurant standards
Conduct performance evaluations, coaching, and corrective action when appropriate
Build schedules that support the needs of the business while managing labor effectively
Foster a professional, respectful, team-oriented workplace culture
Develop employees and identify opportunities for internal advancement
Guest Experience & Operations
Maintain a consistent, high level of hospitality throughout the restaurant
Maintain a strong presence on the floor and actively lead service
Oversee opening, closing, service, and daily operating procedures
Ensure restaurant cleanliness, organization, maintenance, and overall presentation meet KIN. Social standards
Address guest concerns professionally and use sound judgment to resolve issues
Ensure consistent execution of restaurant policies and procedures
Work closely with culinary leadership to maintain strong communication between front and back of house
Ensure compliance with health, safety, sanitation, and alcohol-service requirements
Financial & Business Performance
Take ownership of restaurant sales, labor, operating expenses, and overall financial performance
Monitor labor and staffing levels based on sales and business needs
Review sales, productivity, payroll, inventory, and other key operating metrics
Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and development of restaurant KPIs
Identify opportunities to increase revenue and improve operational efficiency
Monitor food, beverage, and operating costs and address unfavorable variances
Maintain appropriate inventory controls and help minimize waste, loss, and unnecessary spending
Provide clear and timely performance reporting to ownership
Sales & Community
Help develop strategies to increase traffic, repeat business, and overall restaurant sales
Build relationships with guests and become an active presence within the Stamford community
Support private events, partnerships, promotions, and other revenue-generating opportunities
Work with ownership on initiatives that strengthen the KIN. Social brand and guest experience
Qualifications
3+ years of restaurant management experience, with General Manager, Assistant General Manager, or comparable leadership experience strongly preferred
Proven ability to lead and develop both managers and hourly employees
Strong understanding of restaurant financials, including labor, cost controls, budgeting, and P&L performance
Experience with scheduling, payroll, inventory, and restaurant operating systems
Strong knowledge of front-of-house restaurant operations and hospitality standards
Comfortable using POS systems and restaurant management technology
Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Ability to make sound decisions and remain composed in a fast-paced environment
Strong sense of accountability and follow-through
Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by the business
