    About Us Budget Blinds of Mobile is a locally owned and operated franchise specializing in custom window treatments — blinds, shades, shutters, draperies, and more. We help homeowners and businesses transform their spaces with expert design, precise measuring, professional installation, and outstanding customer service.

    As a small, growing business, our owner wears many hats — and we're looking for a motivated, hands-on individual to join us as a General Manager Trainee. This is a rare opportunity to learn every aspect of running a successful home services franchise, with a clear, structured path to stepping into the full General Manager role. Our goal is to develop someone who can eventually run daily operations smoothly, allowing the owner more flexibility to step away.

    The Opportunity This isn't just an entry-level job — it's a fast-track leadership development program. Over 6–18 months, you'll receive comprehensive, on-the-job training in sales, design consultations, measuring, installations, scheduling, customer service, administrative tasks, and team coordination. Top performers will transition into the General Manager position with increased responsibility and compensation.

    What You'll Do (Training & Responsibilities)

    Shadow and assist in in-home sales consultations and design recommendations for custom window treatments.

    Learn precise measuring and product knowledge for blinds, shades, shutters, and more.

    Support or perform professional installations and quality checks.

    Handle daily operations: scheduling appointments, order processing, inventory coordination, invoicing, and follow-up.

    Provide exceptional customer service — building relationships and ensuring every client is thrilled with their results.

    Jump in wherever needed, just like the owner does — sales, admin, installs, or problem-solving.

    Gradually take on more leadership duties, including overseeing workflows so the business runs efficiently when the owner is away.

    You'll receive direct mentoring from the owner and access to Budget Blinds corporate training resources.

    What We're Looking For

    Strong customer service mindset and a genuine desire to help people.

    Willingness to be hands-on — comfortable with measuring, physical work, and in-home visits (clean driving record required).

    Basic sales aptitude or previous experience in retail, home improvement, construction, or customer-facing roles (window treatments experience is a plus but not required — we'll train you).

    Excellent organizational and communication skills.

    Reliable, coachable, and ambitious — someone with an "owner mentality" who takes initiative.

    High school diploma or equivalent required; some college or management interest preferred.

    Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen.

    No prior management experience needed — we value attitude, work ethic, and learning agility most.

    Compensation & Benefits

    Starting pay: $35,000 – $50,000 per year (depending on experience), plus performance bonuses and sales/install commissions.

    Clear pay increases tied to training milestones and successful transition to General Manager role (potential for $55k–$75k+ total compensation as you grow).

    Opportunities for profit-sharing or other incentives as you take on more responsibility.
