    About the Role Wallen Garage Doors is seeking a highly capable and driven General Manager to serve as a strategic partner to the Owner and lead the day-to-day execution of the business. This individual will function as the operational leader of the organization, ensuring alignment between company vision and daily performance across both office and field teams.

    This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with experience in service-based or skilled trades environments who can balance strategic thinking with real-time execution. The General Manager will play a critical role in driving operational excellence, team performance, revenue growth, and customer satisfaction.

    Position Summary

    The General Manager will oversee all aspects of operations, including field service delivery, office administration, team leadership, financial performance, and business development. This individual must be comfortable operating autonomously, making informed decisions, and leading with accountability in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.

    Core Responsibilities

    Operational Leadership

    Oversee all daily business operations across office and field teams

    Ensure efficient scheduling, dispatching, and execution of service work

    Maintain high standards for customer experience, job quality, and team performance

    Identify and resolve operational challenges in real time

    Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company policies, and industry standards

    Team Leadership & Development

    Lead, mentor, and develop office staff, technicians, and installers

    Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures

    Recruit, train, and retain high-performing team members

    Facilitate daily and weekly meetings to align teams and drive results

    Foster a culture of professionalism, ownership, and continuous improvement

    Field Operations & Technical Support

    Serve as a senior resource for technicians, providing guidance and troubleshooting support

    Maintain credibility with field teams through hands-on leadership and technical understanding

    Ensure consistency in service delivery, installation quality, and customer interactions

    Revenue Growth & Performance Optimization

    Develop and implement strategies to achieve monthly and annual revenue targets

    Drive improvements in average ticket value, job efficiency, and profitability

    Coach team members on customer communication and service-based sales opportunities

    Monitor KPIs and financial performance metrics to inform decision-making

    Process Improvement & Scalability

    Streamline workflows and implement systems to improve efficiency

    Enhance coordination between office operations and field execution

    Analyze market trends to identify growth opportunities

    Continuously refine processes to support long-term scalability and operational excellence

    Vendor & Relationship Management

    Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and vendors

    Negotiate pricing, manage inventory, and ensure timely material availability

    Requirements

    Proven experience in a managerial or leadership role within a service-based or skilled trades industry (garage doors, HVAC, plumbing, construction, etc.)

    Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate, coach, and hold teams accountable

    Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

    Experience managing budgets, financial performance, and operational metrics

    Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities

    Ability to analyze data and implement strategic improvements

    Experience with scheduling, dispatching, and field service operations

    Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

    Preferred Background

    Experience in home services or field service industries

    Hands-on technical knowledge combined with leadership experience

    Proven success managing technicians, installers, or service teams

    Familiarity with CRM or field service management software
