Responsibilities: • Perform general surgery procedures with precision and care, ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and satisfaction. • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team to develop comprehensive treatment plans tailored to each patient's unique needs. • Lead pre-operative and post-operative consultations, providing clear, empathetic communication to patients and their families. • Stay abreast of the latest surgical techniques and technologies, integrating them into practice to enhance patient outcomes. • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss case studies, share insights, and contribute to the collective knowledge of the team. • Ensure meticulous documentation of all surgical procedures and patient interactions, maintaining compliance with healthcare regulations and standards. Qualifications: • Must have valid and current Texas Medical Board issued Surgical Assistant License or valid and current Certification from a recognized accrediting body such as the American Board of Surgical Assistants (ABSA) or the National Surgical Assistant Association (NSAA) is required • Active Basic Life Support (BLS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications from the American Heart Association (AHA) or equivalent • Minimum of 2 years of experience in General surgery first assisting in a hospital or an outpatient surgical center • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and proficient medical terminology with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment • Proficiency in various surgical procedures such as appendectomies, cholecystectomies, robotic procedures, minimally invasive procedures and cesarean deliveries • Strong attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving skills • Foreign MDs must pass TOEFL Test • Solid communication and customer service skills • Ability use a computer to complete administrative tasks • Must have completed an accredited medical assisting program and a supervised externship in a healthcare setting • High school diploma or GED Compensation: $80,000
