Generator Service Technician

Level 3 / Level 4

Compensation: up to $60 per hour, depending on experience
Overtime available. Monthly commission on approved work.

Location: Pine Brook, NJ
You must live within a reasonable commute of the Pine Brook service area.

The Opportunity

Our Client is one of the nation’s largest independent generator service providers, supporting commercial, and industrial standby power systems. They provide support for hospitals, high rise buildings, retail centers, and industrial facilities throughout Northern New Jersey.

This branch operates under a union agreement and supports a strong, established team of experienced technicians.

This is not an entry level position.

We are hiring Level 3 and Level 4 technicians who can diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex generator issues independently.

What You’ll Be Doing

You will handle a mix of commercial and industrial standby power systems across multiple OEM platforms.

The right technician for this role can confidently:

• Perform advanced electrical and mechanical diagnostics

• Troubleshoot and test ATS systems

• Execute load bank testing

• Perform control swaps and programming

• Work around switchgear and basic paralleling environments

This is a role for technicians who understand systems — not just parts.

What We’re Looking For

• Minimum 4 years generator experience

• Experience across at least two OEM brands

• Diagnostics and paralleling experience is a must

• Comfortable with on call rotation

• Strong customer communication skills

• Stable work history

If you are primarily performing entry level PM work and not handling advanced diagnostics, this role will not align.
