    JOB DESCRIPTION

    ROLE: SALES REPRESENTATIVE

    FLSA: EXEMPT

    LOCATION: SEATTLE/PORTLAND

    Our Sales Representatives are responsible for the sales of research products within a defined territory. You will develop and maintain effective customer relations, drive opportunities for growth within an existing customer base, and assure market penetration and profitability while achieving sales and profit forecasts. This is an excellent opportunity for an energetic professional who is looking to gain sales experience with a rapidly growing company.

    WHAT WILL YOU DO:

    • Assume overall territory ownership to develop and maintain effective customer relationships with purchasing and clients. Develops strategies and implement plans to achieve annual sales and gross margin targets. Manage pricing within territory to drive financial targets
    • Independently make decisions, but also utilize available resources to meet customer needs and work effectively with cross-functional teams
    • Research competitor and industry activity and keep informed of new products/services and other general information of interest to customers incorporating this data into the business plan
    • Maintain accurate reporting, records, and files necessary for proper management of territory
    • Communicates any customer issues or potential problems, perform other tasks assigned by manager
    • Inform customers of supply and price trends and assist in inventory control, consults with customers
    • Positively represent Genesee Scientific at all times throughout customer locations

    WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

    • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant science field or equivalent and typically two plus years of sales or research laboratory industry, or lab experience is an asset. Recent grads are welcome to apply.
    • Documented record and/or aptitude of delivering sales/marketing information to influence customer decision-making
    • Strong verbal and written communication, negotiation, sales, interpersonal and presentation skills. Demonstrated working knowledge of frequently used personal computer programs and relevant applications.
    • Results orientated, strong work ethic and an ability to excel within a rapidly changing and growing organization
    • Strong time management skills and ability to work independently and as part of a team.
    • Typically works in a home office environment with extensive regional travel to customer locations; Overnight travel may be required
    • Minimal physical effort is required. Work does require walking, standing, bending, reaching, lifting or carrying objects that typically weigh less than 10 lbs.
